I created a project and compiled it to an *.exe. It works fine on my computer. But when I send the *.exe and all the required *.dbf and *.cdx files to the client and place them all the the right folders, my client gets the message "foxpro library not found". I don't want to install foxpro on each of the client's computers.

How to I get a solution to this? Is there a way to create an "install" disk?

Hi Howard,
Which version of FoxPro are you using?
If you are using Foxpro 2.6 DOS or Windows, (as your post location suggests, It has been so darned long for me, I forget). I recommend that you use FoxPro 6.0 or later.

That being said, you can distribute the FoxPro runtime to your clients. How to do it varies depending upon which version of FoxPro you are using. In Visual FoxPro 6.0 for example you could:
A. Follow this link that describes which files need to be installed at the client site:
OR
B. In VFP go to Tools, Setup, then follow the directions.

In versions 7, 8 and 9 MS introduced InstallShield Express for creating the distributable application. That is an app that comes with FoxPro but is an external program.

A link to using InstallShield Express:

A link to the runtime files for VFP 9.0 is:

Thank you Bill,

In fact, I am using VP6. I posted in the wrong location.

Howard

You can get the VFP6 runtime files from Woodys site:
ftp://ftp.prolib.de/public/
The exe will install the runtime files automatically.
