Our department is considering options to extend our PBX service to another building on campus located 2600 feet away. We have an Option 11C which currently uses 2 cabinets and are looking at the possibility of adding a third cabinet in the other building. I've looked online at Nortel's site and in our documentation but I can't find anything on distance limits. Will a third cabinet work over a distance of 2600 feet? And if so, is it using single-mode or multi-mode fiber? The current cabs are linked with fiber cable that is orange colored. On the data side of things orange meant single mode and yellow meant multimode but I haven't dealt much with fiber on the voice side.

This should help.

NTDK25 (3km, multimode)with NTDK24 daughterboard
or
NTDK80(3km, singlemode)with NTDK79 daughterboard

Wow, that was fast! Thanks for the quick response and the detailed info, hawks! That's great news.
