Hi

Crystal 7.0.

In my report I have got a record which is displaying twice. How can I hide the duplicate line? The suppress duplicate option for each field does not work as this only suppresses the field that I have selected and does not take out the whole line.

12345 Joe Bloggs
12345 Joe Bloggs
12568 John Smith
12789 Minnie Mouse

I only want Joe Bloggs to display once - how can I do this?

Thanks

Sian

Assuming that the 12345 is the link field, click on Database... Select Distinct Records

If that does not work, then there is another field somewhere that is unique. If you still don't want to show the record, then go to format section and click suppress and click on x+2 and enter the following

WhilePrintingRecords;
{tablename.field} = previous({tablename.field})

Thanks for your quick reply.

When I click on Database, I don't have the option to select Distinct Records.

I have also tried entering:
WhilePrintingRecords;
{Calls.Callid} = previous({Calls.Callid})
but this just hides the Callid field it does not hide the whole details line in the report.

What I need to do, is supress the duplicate call id and the entire details line with that record in the report.

Thanks.

Sounds like you formatted the object {calls.Callid} instead of the section.

Click on the design tab and right click on the detail section on the left and click on format section

From the section expert window, click on suppress and enter the same formula on the x+2

Can this also be applied to Cross Tabs in anyway? I also want to exclude duplicate records from a cross tab in the same report.

Thanks
Sian
