Something very odd is happening with Netscape and our pdf files. We run apache 1.3.12 on AIX4 with many virtual hosts. All our pdf files were opening and displaying in Netscape just fine about a week ago. What's happening is that when you want to open a pdf file in Netscape (say v4.7) I get a blank screen instead of the pdf file. If you hit reload or simply press enter in the address bar, the pdf file is then displayed and functions normally. If you select a pdf link and tell it to open up in another window, the pdf file is displayed immediately.

What makes this problem stranger is that it doesn't happen accross all of the virtual hosts (they all run on the same box). Some of our virtual hosts are displaying the pdf files as they should and some of them display the blank page and only after a reload display the pdf. When we copy a pdf file from one virtual host experiencing the problem to one that doesn't, the pdf file functions normally.

Within the httpd file, we only define the ip and document root for each virtual host. The rest is the same for everyone. The problem occurs in Netscape only, not IE.

Has anyone ever encountered anything like this??? Any input would be MUCH appreciated :)

Thanks!
