I've noticed that when we move an employee to a new desk that their extension number is retained on the display even though their phone is now active at another location and their old phone has been X ported. We try to make sure the old desk is given a new extension but occasionallu one slips past and when a new MAC is requested for that location we are asked to assign the extension on that display to the new user or swap it with the users extension that is moving there. Since we are not physically at that location it would help a lot to be able to clear that display.

The phone model is a 2420. The PBX is S8700.

Thanks in advance,

-Max

I have no technical solution to your management problem

Thanks for the quick response,

Sorry I should have explained this better. The problem is related to the physical phone since the phone is just retaining the last extension number that was assigned to it on the display. There is no port associated with the phone. I was just wondering if there was some way of clearing the memory on the phone besides leaving it unplugged for a week. That is if that would even work.
