Hi guys,

Currently my Avaya G450 system with 9611G IP phones displays caller ID as long as the incoming caller is not blocking it.
But if the incoming call blocks caller ID digits is there a way to have the phones display "Caller ID Blocked" instead of the generic trunk's group name, which is what it does currently.
Of course we'd still want incoming caller ID/name to display for when its available.
Here's the current set up for our PRI.

display inc-call-handling-trmt trunk-group 101 Page 1 of 30
INCOMING CALL HANDLING TREATMENT
Service/ Number Number Del Insert Per Call Night
Feature Len Digits CPN/BN Serv
tie 10 808313 1
tie 7 3 1808
tie 4 6 1808313

Thanks for any suggestions!
Rich

use a vector routing table with wild cards that cover all inbound CLI , then use a statement in the vector to say "if number not in table X goto step X , an step x send it to a vdn with the name Withheld and route accordingly , you may have to get clever with variables in both vectors if you want a seamless action for the caller and need direct extension calling , or you could have in your "Witheld vector an announcement saying something like "due to you having no caller id please enter the extension you require" (obviously this is only if direct extension calling is required)

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

HI monty,

Sorry but I've limited skills with setting up vectors. Thank you for the idea though, hopefully one day I can figure out how to do your suggestion.

Hi Matt,

I made the changes but it still didn't show anything different when I made a restricted test call on the trunk group.
Do I need to do a gateway restart to have it take effect?

Thanks guys!
Rich

Rich - after you configure the sys fea page, go into the trunk groups and look for an option "replace blocked CPN" or something like that. It's the second or third page I think. I don't have a switch to look at it right now but you'll see it under "cha trunk xx"

Thank you so much Randy!
Your suggestion, combined with Matt's, worked...I changed the trunk-group's setting as you said and bam it worked great!

Replace Restricted Numbers? y
Replace Unavailable Numbers? y

Thanks again! You guys are awesome!
