Hi Everyone,

A user's computer was hit by the antivirusxp 2008 virus/malware, which disrupted the computer screen. The virus has been removed and the computer seems to be free of any infections. However, when I go to the display properties, only three tabs can be seen. Missing from the Display Properties are the Desktop and Settings tabs. I have tried using the gpedit.msc to try and restore these but no luck. One option I am contemplating is renaming the user's profile.Reason is if a different user logs into the same computer, all the five tabs shows.
Any ideas what else to check?

Thanks in adanvce

are you running windows xp? if so is your account set up as the administrator?

Hi guys, sorry I have been away and just returned. The issue was actually a registry corruption caused by the Antivirusxp 2008 malware, and had to be fixed in the registry and this is what I did.
I downloaded a file called "restorerealdisplaytabs" from a site called kellys-korner.com
Once the file was ran, bingo, it worked like a charm.
