Is there any way to modify RDP connected Monitor settings?
My connections all default to 256 Colors (Default Monitor) on RDPDD. No other choices appear to be available....settings > contol panel > display > (settings tab)

I can change the screen area (client connector > connection options) but see no way to change color?

I have a particular app. that requires 800X600 High Color 16 Bit . Which is what the actual W2KTS has been set to.

First I would check to be sure that the video card you are using has support for W2K. If so, then check for the correct driver.

What you are trying to do is impossible. RDP isn't meant to handle the sort of bandwith that dealing with High Color would cause. KB q273725 is the official word on this.

As part of the server build I downloaded and installed (from dell) the most current W2K video adapter driver. I assume that this is not a user selectable option via RDP unlike ICA. Is this the concensus?

The RDP protocol in Windows 2000 Terminal Services does not support more than 256 colors - period. The RDP protocol packaged with Windows XP Pro (and probably .NET Server) supports High color and Sound mapping.

I believe Citrix's stuff supports sound and high color as well. Craig J Matthews
