Hi, we’ve recently installed two 4625SW IP phones on an IPO 406V2 (4.2.14 firmware). All’s working fine for the most part, but there’s one small problem that the users are complaining about which is, the very top line of the display is not showing the time & date when the phone is idle (on-hook with no active calls). All the documentation that I’ve read says that this should be the default display, however what we’re seeing is when the user goes back on-hook the time & date displays momentarily but then almost immediately the extension number and username appear and the time & date are no longer displayed. I can’t seem to figure out how to get it back to the ‘normal’ display. I’ve reset the phones to their default setting but that didn’t do the trick. Anyone know how to fix this? Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

I don't think they do. They've just added time date display by defualt to 5410 and 5420 but (from what I've seen) not to IP phones. you doc's may relate to these phones connected to a Comms Manager system. they display Extn number on the CA keys so the other part is free for date/time.

· Phone Time and Date Display
For 4.2, the following phones now display the current time and date at the bottom right of their display when idle: 2410, 2420, 5410 and 5420.....it's only for those handsets I'm afraid. You can set a button that when pressed displays the time and date on the phone until the handset is reset.

Thanks for the fast responses! I think you’re right, the documentation I was looking at was probably referring to when the phone is connected to a communication manager system. I programmed a ‘time of day’ button as suggested though and that did the trick, and the button actually acts as a persistent on/off setting. So in other words when the user is done with a call and goes back on-hook the date and time reappears automatically without having to press the button again. It even comes back after a reboot of the phone. So this is exactly what the user wanted. Thanks again guys!

i think date and time should be default display, and extension optional. mind you 4.2 obviously addresses all that.

seeing as jamie has already posted in this thread ill just mention that this is how 2030's are and see where he takes it....
