my receptionist called to tell me her display keeps showing the below:

-12 6995

noone is there. We do not have a PRI, just a regular AT&T circuit. I think 12 is the trunk memmber the call is coming in on but how can I determine what 6995 is? it is not part of my DID range. Thank you.

tcomanalyst,

I would contact that carrier that that call is coming in on, because the format of numbers is how an unassighned DID appears at a switch board. Is 6995 a programed DN?

6995 is neither a system # nor a DID in my range.

I sounds like an odity from AT&T (All Twisted & Tangled). Do you know what route the call is coming from?

I can recal an issue of people calling a toll free number that was set up as a test number by MCI to test a new circuit. The number was pointed to my phone, since I did not use an IDC table and they were sending the last four of my DN my phone, kept getting phontom calls and wrong numbers untill the test number was redirected.

So I would gues that AT&T is posibly doing the same thing.

so basically there is nothing i can do, correct? the receptionist will just have to live with it?

I would contact AT&T and try to get it resolved. Hopefuly you have a good sales rep at AT&T that acn weed through the B.S. to find out what numbers are ported to the T-1 in question.

Good luck,

gumpus

Have you tryied doing a trace in LD 80 when this happens.

I think the displays normally shows

xxxx yy zzzz

xxxx would ne the ACOD of the route the call came in on

yy would be the trunk member

zzzz would be any addition digits

when this call comes in look to see if the Intercept button lights up or if it a regular loop key. I fit is the intercept this could be a vacant number

It also could be a bad trunk - test this trunk using the maintenance set
