am I loosing it or did I see a post a while back indicating a known bug/future feature that would show the number of voicemail messages on the display of a 5420/5410 ?? I would swear there was a way to do this but I remember it being more a feature of 3.2 or 4.x that was accidently added to 3.0

This works on my IPO406v2 3.1(29) using a 5420 telephone.

1- Have someone dial your extension.
2- While your phone is ringing, press a second call appearance button(b=) and get dialtone.
3- Now press your MESSAGES button and it should show:
____________________________
>NEW=1
>OLD=3
>SAV=7

Press the desired option and you should see:
____________________________
>PREVIOUS DELETE<
>NEXT SAVE<
>REWIND COPY<
>FFWD WHEN<

Thanks bettyr, I remember this now, unfortunalty it's not just a button, hopefully that will happen in the future

Bettyr,

Star and much kudos to you. That looks like the much loved visual voice functionaity that was lost when Avaya ended support for 20 series phones. In my talks with them they have said it on the roadmap for DS phones with 4.0 but it looks like they have some of the code in place already.

I can see exactly what I'm going to be testing first thing Monday morning.

Cheers

I cannot get this to work in the latest 3.2 Version. Has anyone else figured out a way? Have they removed it until 4.0?

Thanks

I am sure its removed, it was a inheritance from the DT type of phones, these type of phones are not supported above 2.1 software.
It will be available again in version 4.

When" would speak the date and time the message was left in the mailbox.

I did apply to beta test IP Office version 4 and one of the new feature is "Visual Voicemail": You get a list of message on 5410 & 5420 phones, then you can see, play and delete from the phone screen!

I think it will be similar to the way One-X Quick Edition works with voicemail! Can't wait to see that working... finally :)

The beta phase should start october 6 if my memory is good! it was delayed a few weeks

SIP trunks should be part of that release too! hmmm.... SIP trunks!
