We recently switched to PRI and had some unexpected changes. One was all the calls outgoing had blocked numbers, I updated the OLI # for extensions here and that was resolved. I am now running into an issue where I will forward a call after 3 rings but the call being forwarded is being blocked. Is there a certain extension that I can set the OLI and this will become unblocked? I set it for our published line, is there a way to just set it for the system as a whole?

Thank you,
Alex

I am guessing the CFNA is to an external number and also the PRI is being provided by a carrier through an IAD?

If so on both accounts, then you're hosed.. By default any external forwarding of a call (note I didn't say transfer) will result in the originating caller-id being forward across the PRI and into the IAD. The IAD see's this original CLID and won't allow the call to process because the CLID doesn't match valid numbers for your customer.

According to carriers (XO, QWest, etc), this is a security issue and there is nothing they can do about it. They say they don't write the IAD code and therefore can't modify it..

Sorry..

DBrewsky,

That makes sense. I am going to call them and see what they can do about forwarding calls before it gets to me on my end and that might be part of the solution.

Thank you!

DBrewsky,

Is there anyway that I can forward the call with my number attached to it? And you are right about the external number and PRI through the IAD...

Thanks,
Alex

I'd guess, no. This isn't an OLI issue, so you've got no field to enter it. You're using a MICS, right?

I am using a MICS, that's correct. I have a call in with our provider. I will see what I can do from that end, I guess. Wish switching to PRI didn't inflict these issues.

Thank you for the help!

I ended up speaking with an engineer at our service provider and something was set up incorrectly. Things are now working as expected. Thank you all for the help.
