Display multiple records - horizontally

This has idea been vexing me as well.
In a DB I need to set some continous forms that display horizontally. Luckly I have a fixed amount of records per query so I can write three subforms that appear to be a subform that displays one form, if you catch my meaning. However, I'm perplexed why continous forms only work vertical, if you need to do a horizontal, it would work nicely to set the max width per record and them have them strecth horizontally.
