I have SPS server set up which is part of a Win2K domain. Workspaces have been created and user rights have been assigned based on domain group membership.
Under quick links I have created afew quick links. These links are basically to the workspaces. Uses click on their respective dept portal links. If they have rights to that workspace then they are allowed access, else they are denied access.
Now, I want these links set up so that they dont even show up if users dont have access to the links (links to workspaces).
Anyone have any piece of code, webpart that does it for me.
Links, tuts, how-tos would be great.
Thanks.

Further,
I went into my network places -> portal -> portal content -> Quick Links -> I right clikced them -> Properties -> Security.
Here I denied acces to thse objects based on their domain memebership.
It seemed to work fine ...... almost !!
I opened the link as user1 and it didnt display what I didnt want. Next I tried to open as user2 but it still displayed the same thing.
I simply restarted the SPS server and then I opened the link as user2, it showed what user2 was supposed to see.
But again, if I wanted to open as user1, then same problem. Sometimes I got a script execution error on the top of the portal.
I dont understand.
Pleae advise what I have to do.
Thanks.

If you know ASP you could store the links in a database and test the users windows logon then retrive the apropriate links from the database based on the users logon. The areas would still have to be secure as if a user finds out the link they could still type it in to the URL box. Hope this helps a bit. Sorry for the lack of code. Might be able to help further if you get stuck with this approach but no promises. Cheers
