I have an access database that I save HTML code to via a form. I'd like the dynamic text in the web site to display the HTML code as text when viewed on the page. How do I do that in Dreamweaver MX 2004

dynamic= ASP,PHP,JPS or any other language that can use some drvier to connect to you database (eg. using ODBC)
HTML aspect of this all is nothing more than an output for the web...HTML itsleff can not handle dynamic process....with some Javascript u can get a few things done but it sound like you should hit F1 in DW and read about Dynamic Sites.
All the best!

Ok, so this is what I want to do. I want to update dynamically a set of paragraphs on a page. How do I preserve paragraph format, line breaks etc. when displaying the text from the database on the page?
I'm using DWMX 2004.
Is it possible? Right now I just get run on text one after the other with no formating. Fonts work fine, Formatting not.
How can I accomplish this?
Thanks.

that is great, u can do it using ASP or....aghhh ur questions are so specific = how to "drive the car" but I dont even know if u have a "licence" or "the car" itself or if u want to learn how to drive a truck or.....all I know is that ur in need of transportation and that u have a good will!
write more about your setup...the web/server...are u looking to make these pages EVERY time u need a report?
OR.....I got more questions than you :)!

Ok, running asp on IIS5. Using Dreamweaver MX2004 with and Access 2000 database with a Jet/OLEDB connection.
I enter text in a feild with an insert behavior. I've added the recordset feild to the page so it will display. If i add a carriage return/line break to the text I imput it won't display on the page. I'd like it too. Bold face and CSS styles display just fine. I need paragraphs and for a client to be able to update paragraphs on the site. What I'd really like to do is enter html code in to the insert feild, save it to the access database and have it display as html on page. When I do that now I get the code, tags and all.
Making sense now?
Thanks for your help...

Perfect sense, What you are after is a Text area much like the one I am typing in now. All visual formatting is replaced with the relevant HTML tags when inserted.

You can either display a small help file telling your user to put
Code:
[COLOR=red]<br>[/color]
type of tags into there text, or you can build a content management sytem, have a look round there are plenty you can see.

BTW we have just spent nearly 3/4 million on a system that will do this so what you require has been done before, just depends on what scale?
