Hello, does anyone know how to display the person name of an external call instead of his number on a Cisco IPPhone?
I tried with address book but not work....

Thank you.

Got bad news it is not CCM it is your carrier. If your carrier is using a 5e switch as it's dial tone provider CCM will not except the name only number. Cisco says it is fixed in 3.4 do out in Dec. 2003.

Has something to do with the name type on the 5e.

I am hooked up to a 5e switch and I don't know how but once in six months of having my CCM system I got name and number for a call generated by a vendor in Florida... it was very weird... wasn't expecting it at all. Is the 5e thing also responsible for my caller id not being shown to some people when I call them - for example my number never shows up when I call an AT&T cellphone.

Calling name delivery in CCM on PRI has to do with the IE (Information Element) that the calling name identification is being delivered on. CCM looks in a different IE field for this information (Display IE) from the one where most telcos deliver the calling name info (Facility IE). You can actually see the calling name being delivered to the gateway in the debug output, but CallManager isn't looking in the right place. Cisco is allegedly going to fix this in the next CallManager release scheduled for December '03.
