Hi
I'm having a strange problem, hope somone can help
originally I was having video playback problems with the image quality being greatly diminished and to much contrast, I searched for a solution, and found the issue covered on nvidia's site (I have a 5600XT) although their solution didn't correct the problem.
Now when I move the image from my monitor to my TV the image appears like this screen dump
screen.bmp

and remains like it even when dragged back to the monitor.
Any ideas?

Couple of issues with the latest drivers...one is going into the properties of the video card and going to the video overlay tab and selcting advanced mode instead of standard mode...also I have heard that going into media player options, under tools, select performance and under video acceleration choose advanced, and then select use high quality mode and not overlay mode...looks like a timing issue..go here and read about timings.

could it possibly be a problem with the player you are using or a codec? Probably not a codec since it works on your monitor fine, but i've found some software video players dont like to play on my TV either. Have you tried Media Player Classic...I've had the best luck with it. Here's the link:

Also a great codec pack that may be worth a shot, Ace Mega Codec Pack (includes media player classic). if you install it, select "Just Play" when the options are available. Also I would recommend uninstalling any other codec packs you have instaled (Nimo, etc.). Here's a download site for ACE:

its worth a shot!

Hi, Thanks
It is already on high quality overlay, if i could get a good picture on the default settings I'd use winamp and by pass this problem till nvidia provide a solution.
Nvidia provided a solution here.. which doesn't work for me.

I've looked at the timings, it's all greek to me, however... wouldn't the timings effect the global settings?
this problem only occurs with windows media play.

the codec pack I use is from theorica.net.
I've tried ace mega codec pack in the past and had problems (mainly xvid, I think... it's been awhile since I used that one, it would cause a resource monster loop), the codec pack from theorica seems clean.

Will give windows media player a shot, it's just.. all was working fine last I used this comp for video playback.. so it should be correctable!

Did you download those drivers, and install them? if so, what about going to guru3d.com and download an older version before 77.xx
