Display Database Window doesn't display

Does anyone know why the database window, which allows you to see forms, tables, etc, is no longer displaying, even though it is set to display. Even if i start the db with the shift key down, it doesn't display. Help!

when i press the f11 key, that toggles the window between full screen and partial screen size of the explorer

What happens if you select Windows/Cascade when the program is open??

I think it is helplessly corrupted. There seems to be no way to display the database window, although the forms and tables work. I created a new blank database and imported all forms, etc. does that usually work fairly well?
