Display Chinese on iTune 1

Hi all,

After importing chinese songs into iTune's library, those chinese characters title/song information are unable to be display ( only garbage charaters ).

Is there any software to display chinese in Mac environment?? ( like in Windows environment, I can use NJ Star to display chinese song title in Windows Media Player ).

Chinese display is built into the Mac OS, even from the day of Mac OS 9 (Classic). However, there are different ways to encode the Chinese characters, and what you experienced is probably done in a format not supported by Mac OS X. It may be a problem with incompatible fonts, too.

I have a decent collection of Chinese songs and never have problems with seeing Chinese characters. Lots of time I can have iTunes grab the names from the Internet. With CDs made in Hong Kong or Taiwan, there's a better chance that the Chinese names are available, whereas those made in China stand less of a chance. In those case, I would laboriously enter the Chinese myself.

Can your Mac display Chinese at all? Try visiting some Hong Kong sites of Yahoo to see if you can see Chinese characters properly. Maybe your Mac somehow doesn't have the Chinese fonts installed.

Yea, I can read others in chinese, most songs' info in chinese are not displayed, some are OK.

I think you are right, I hv to type myself.

But, why MS Windows Media Player can display all chinese? I think the problem is on iTunes. I even installed iTunes for Windows on my Windows machine, same problem.
