I am trying to install openbsd to use the entire dr. I have no need for a multiple OS's on it. It will be my Gateway/Firewall.

My bios reports the drive correctly as stated on the dr label. 13395 cyl, 15 heads 63 sectors. The drive has a capacity of 6181 megs

The fdisk geometry table lists it as 787 cyl 255 heads 63 sectors. I cannot correct the table permanately.

The disk keeps running out of space during the install.
I have tried to edit the starting cyl/hd/sec of the 3rd partition which is the one that the install program uses for the entire disk install. Any ideas on what the proper values should be in this partition? I can't find anything on the internet of any help.

Thanks in advance.

What kind of install are you making?
(I like the one floppy needed ftp install)
( )

And have you tried formating and erasing all partitions

I have tried to edit the starting cyl/hd/sec of the 3rd partition which is the one that the install program uses for the entire disk install.
(wich install program is this??)

If you have no need for other installs why install on drive I looks like that should be c then
Remove all execesive harddisks from your system and install then again untill you got that right then start with adding an extra disk (I'm guessing what your problem is because you discribed it rather vagely)

Anywayz Saludos OpenBSDRulez

Thanks, for the reply.I was finally able to fumble and stumble my way out of a tar pit with fdisk. I now intend to leave sleeping dogs lie. :-D
