When the diskcheck is complete, the results are shown......for about .85 seconds. I may not understand it all, but is there a way for the results to remain on the screen a little longer?
XP PRO. Thanks.

I usually just read the details from the event that it creates in the system log.

Cheers.

Have you tried the Pause/Break/Scroll Lock key on your keyboard as soon as the details pop out?

----------------------------------
Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

go to control panel --> admin tools --> event viewer --> and then I believe it is under system. I forget which code it causes, but there shouldn;t be very many there. You'll find it.

Thanks. By the look of the event viewer list, couple dozen things entered today. I don't know which one it is. Even have an "error", in red, in the list. Will continue to work on it. And do this as soon as I do a diskcheck again, to narrow down the list. Thanks again.

As linney stated the event will be in the application log with a source of winlogon. Double click on the entry to get the details.

Here is an example of the details of a chkdsk that I did:

Cheers.

Thanks again.
One last question...in the list...would "0kb in bad sectors" be the only entry to be concerned about?

How many "bad sectors" would you like to have, if zero is not enough, try hitting the drive with a hammer, that should give you a few more (Lol).

If you have any errors from ChkDsk they will be mentioned as actual errors on the screen or in the log.

Here is an example of errors in ChkDsk.

Hey, that's funny. You must be related to D.M. I wasn't referring to the #0. Just that particular line for results.
Thanks again.
