Disk Utilities

I'm looking for suggestions for a good disk checker. I need to perform full surface scans on SCSI and SAS drives. I need to have a utility that I can boot to and run regardless of the OS; I need to check the integrity of the disk, not the file system on it.

Any recommendations would be most appreciated.
