HELP....Let's start by saying that. This morning I started rebuilding my server...and I made a RDISK...which I thought saved NT's disk striping....

The horror story....when I finished with a clean install...I went to Disk Manager...and slapped in the R-disk and no disk configuration info was found....

My question....I did a complete backup on the disk that had the original version of server...will this contain the RAID info...????

PLEASE HELP...
Again thanks in advance...

Also, I want to tell all out there that this is a great information place...and kudos to all that answered my other posting....as simples as it was.....you all REALLY helped.

Let's start by saying that!
RAID 5 configuration and disk striping are not the same thing. You cannot do either on the boot partition of NT server so a clean install would not touch those partitions. Therefore the data and the volumes they sit on should still be there unless you deleted the partitions and repartitioned them.

Check the disks are mounted and see if the data is still on them. When you did a complete back up, what did you back up? boot partition, system partition, data or just rdisk info? Using what software?

if your using nt's built in fault tolerance I think the procedure is to restore NT, and manually recreate the stripe or raid, the perform your restore.
