i've just received and configured my new asus m2n-sli deluxe motherboard, all the required drivers are installed, i've checked via device manager and i've installed windows updates.

The problem is though when i boot up it says disk boot failure please insert system disc and press enter. If i have my vista disc in it loads up normally but if i don't have it in it asks for it.

Anyone know the cause and fix for this please?

no it doesnt need repaired as it loads fine with the disc in the dvd drive, so the bcd file is working.

Ok, so you've verified that first 'cause' item:

• The Windows Boot Manager (Bootmgr) entry is not present in the Boot Configuration Data (BCD) store.

i managed to fix it but thanks for your help anyway!

What was the answer, the next person who reads this thread might be interested to know that too?

i just changed settings in the bios, changed quite a few to be honest and i can't remember what ones though! I just wizzed through it and it worked!
