Note: This discrepancy does not hold good if devices on either end of the trunk support different number of vlans.

For trunk links to form properly, both sides should have the same VLANs configured across the trunk. If not, you'll see connectivity problems and the trunk may not even form. By default a trunk will carry all VLANs unless there is pruning or the administrator manually configures allowed VLANs. CiscoWorks is telling you do fix the trunks to carry the same VLANs on each side.

Hi, Cluebird
thanks, but how can I fix it?

Configure both sides of the trunk link to carry the same VLANs.

If your 6509 is a CATOS device, you add and delete VLANS from the trunks as follows:

set trunk 1/1 250
(this adds vlan 250 to trunk 1/1)

clear trunk 1/1 100
(this deletes vlan 100 from trunk 1/1)

Verify changes with 'show trunk 1/1'

If your 6509 is an IOS device:

int fa1/1
switchport trunk allowed vlan add 250
(this adds vlan 250 to trunk 1/1)

int fa1/1
switchport trunk allowed vlan remove 100
(this deletes vlan 100 from trunk 1/1)

Verify changes with 'show int fa1/1 trunk'
