I have a customer who is experiencing disconnected calls when going to cellphone vmail. I have only seen it happen on Nextel and only when you get the message "Please hold while the Nextel subscriber is located...". I get that message then the normal silence associated with this message then it disconnects every time. When I call the same Nextel phone and it rings then forwards to voicemail it works fine. My first thought was one of the timers but could not find which one it could be.
I am working with an opt. 11 with succession 3.0. They have 2 PRIs on TMDI cards(happens on both loops). The route is built as a DID route. Protocol is NI2 connected to 5ESS

if the call connects to Nextel, we've done our job. Normally that message is when the user is out of range!

It is the message when the phone is out of range. This is a Navy base and the PRIs in the Opt. 11c connect to a 5ESS on base. If the call is made from a phone directly off of the 5E it works fine, only experiencing the problem when calling from the 11c. I am not sure it is the 11c with the problem just wanted to see if any one has seen this problem.

i would then turn on D Channel messaging in LD 96 and try to see where it's failing

Already tried that and this is what I got.

the call set up looks good, I don't see this really being a PBX issue. All other types of calls are fine, just this one is failing??

Yes, and only when this out of range message occurs, if the cellphone rings then goes to voicemail it works fine. No problems with any other calls.

I believe your problem is because of no answer aupervision when you get that message, if I remember correctly you are not charged for the call unless you get the party or voicemail

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

And without answer supervision, the system will time out and disconnect the call per FCC rules. The cell provider should by FCC rules provide supervision to the called as the call is using TELCO circuits and it's not free.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

You need to post the outgoing messages as well. Just looking at what you posted you got an incoming command to release the call. Nothing wrong with the PBX but maybe looking at the outgoing messages will give us something else to ponder.

Original point and click device "Smith & Wesson

This is programmed as DID and supervision is default in that case, and the outgoing messages were on the first message I posted was an outgoing message and was the only one that displayed.

I will get the RDB and TRK programming and try to get more DCH messages, can you think of anything else that might be helpful.

In any case, you are getting a message telling the PBX to release the call and that is what it does. You need to get the CO guys to do the same monitoring on the Dchannel and see if they are getting the disconnect message from the cell provider.

On second thought that mighe be a release confirmation. I think you need to do the trace again. I think there may be some messages missing. I don't even see any outgoing acknowledgements.

The latest survey shows that 3 out of 4 people make up 75% of the population.

The original point and click interface was a Smith & Wesson.

Red meat is not bad for you, it is the green fuzzy meat that is bad.

Where trying to tell you this is the Cell phone provider's problem not your's.

Your system has no control over the Cell vendor when they go to search for cell.

Do a test call again and collect the D channel again until hangup and post.

The dch messages I posted were incoming and outgoing from time call was placed until hangup, doubt it will change if I collect them again, but I will. If it is the cell phone provider having the issue why does it only happend to this system as there are many on this navy base that go through the same on base CO.
I am not 100% sure it is the PBX but I dont think it is the cell provider, because as I have only seen it happen with Nextel the customer says it happens with others as well. They could be full of it I am not sure.

Now your changing the story, in the origanl post you said, I Quote
"I have a customer who is experiencing disconnected calls when going to cellphone vmail. I have only seen it happen on Nextel and only when you get the message "Please hold while the Nextel subscriber is located"

Good info good answers

Yes read "I have only seen it happen on Nextel" that means that is the only one I have actually witnessed, not changing the story. I take what the customer says with a grain of salt as they usually blow things up making them sound worse.

We base our answers on the info we are given and and info we can get by asking question's, so disregard all my posts in this thread.

I only give information that I have verified to be true. The post is about cellphone voicemail as it says, maybe I should have clarified that it could possibly be happening on other cellphone vendors. Mistake on my part, please post help not criticism every one makes mistakes.
