Hi there,

At random times my XP Pro pc will disconnect from the router. I get a "Network cable was disconnected" error and I'm completely offline and off the network. Sometimes it will come back on it's own in 10 seconds or so, but other times it won't. If I reboot, I'm back online no problem. I've tried different cables, so that's not it. Any ideas? 90% of the time it's fine, but that 10% is annoying

Have you replaced the network card with a known good one, to see if the NIC is bad?

No, but I'm thinking that might be the next logical step. I'll try it and let you know.
