Hi all,

I've got the following problem on a w2k machine :
Under explorer :
when I do a disconnect of a network drive, the drive appears with a red X-mark beside it, and can still be browsed trough. When I try again disconnect it states " The Networkconnection could not be found".So the drive has been disconnected as far as Windows is concerned, but connections remain available anyway

Anyone encountered this kind of behaviour before?

Thx in advance,

Regards

only something similar, when you disconnected the drive did you do right click then disconnect. I have noticed in the past that doesnt always work. Try right clicking My Computer then choose disconnect network drive and disconnect it from there.

Try disconnecting the network drive via the command prompt.

Net use volume: /delete

Consider disconnect a forced autodisconnect.

For persistent connections, scm7kag's advice would be needed:

net use mapped drive letter: /delete

Sign on as that user with the drive mapping issue. Go into the registry under "HKCU\Network". You should see a subkey named with the drive letter that will not disconnect. Delete that subkey and re-boot. That should get rid of it.
