All,

I am doing DR testing and attempting to recover a Windows 2003 server to different hardware using Legato 7.1.2. The problem I have encountered which is also occuring with a Windows 2000 test server is that I am unable to recover any of the SYSTEM DB;SYSTEM FILES;SYSTEM STATE. I get a the following message:

Unable to recover SYSTEM DB SAVESET
Any impending system savesets marked for recovery wil be aborted

So, I get the same message for the SYSTEM FILES and SYSTEM STATE.
I have never come across this problem before, but this is the first time I am testing on this particular backup server.

Thanks in advance for any help......

System state components can only be restored to the original server.
In most cases it works with w2k03 on different hardware, with W2k it almost never works.
In W2k03 do the following :
Install a new clen w2k03 with same Servicepack as your original system.
Give it the same name and IP Address.
Install your Networker client.
Start winworkr and recover everything.

Thanks for the reply....I had heard the same from our support company, but this is the first time after doing many recoveries on different where I have not been able to recover the system environment.

The only difference is that the site I am having 'problems' with is different to the site where I have done many test recoveries to different hardware.
