im doing a disaster recovery test at the moment and everything is going grand till i get to insert machine specific disk, i do that and it asks to reboot, as expected, but it reboots to a logon screen and not to disaster recovery. why?

(by the way when i logon there isnt anything there either)

Are you up to the latest DR service pack? Is it arcserve 2000? How was the DR information written? Is the client added with computer name resolution or IP?

g

just downloaded service pack 4 and remade floppies, still the same problem. (if sp4 was there before would i not have this problem?) Client agent was added with ip, and it is arcserve 2000. its also beginning to annoy me.

(sorry, but what do you mean by how was the dr info written?)

Unless they have dramatically changed things, Disaster Recovery must be done with an Agent that has been added using Computer Name Resolution only.

Also did you apply the DR - SP4? which was re-released?

g

Dunno when sp4 was released (just checked to make sure it was sp4 for disasterv recovery by the way) its on ca's site somewhere.

by the way, thanks for the help
