I'm trying to restore my email server (w2k) through the disaster recovery option.

I have the bootable cd and the machine specific floppy but when I run through the setup it stalls giving the error "arc.sys cannot be found".

Any ideas??

HI,

At what point during the process do you get this error?

Hi speshalyst,

I boot from the cd, the message comes up that I should insert the machine specific floppy and press Y to continue. It then runs through setup. I have to press F6 to install the drivers for my scsi card. Once I install the drivers I put the machine specific disk back in. It then runs through a bit more of the setup programme before dying with this error.

Thanks

Hi Ross,

I would suspect a problem with the ISO.
If this a production down situation, I would move on with a conventional install of the OS and follow it up with a manual restore.

If this is on a test bed, please create a FLOPPY set, instead of a bootable CD and try the process. This gives us more options to trouble shoot the problem.
