I currently have a Dell hardware environment for a 5 server MOSS farm. I am considering implementing an HP environment for the DR site and possibly with virtualization. I wanted to see if there are any recommendations for or against this type of implementation.

Thanks

SharePoint works well under both Hyper-V and ESX, there is only one variant of ESX that Microsoft Officially Supports, but if you are a Premier Customer you can get all the support that you need. If Blades are possible I would go with a B-Class. Put all the storage on the SAN, OS included), then you can plug in a new blade if you have hardware issues. I would recommend at least three blades as a general strategy ( I don't know how much data or how many users that you have) plan a failover strategy between the 3 so that you can lose at least one but keep good performance.

If the cost is two kigh and you want to do this on the cheap just get two DL380G5 and a boat load of ram. Get as many disks as possible in each server given your growth pattern.

Thants a quick and dirty recommendation ;)
