Hi,

My color and measurement palettes have vanished. Under windows (on the mac) they are checked but are not visible on my page.

What's up with that?

Thanks!

...try trashing your preferences file for quark...

andrew

i have trashed quark preferences, restarted and then re-installed quark 7 upgrade. neither worked.

do the short cut keys work at all? F12 for colour palette and F9 for measurements...

andrew

...if running expose in os x tiger, change the key functions in system preferences...

...they clash with quark otherwise...

andrew

did you trash the "com.quark.QuarkXPress.plist" file in your library > preferences folder...

...if this also fails to work i would try trashing anything associated with quark you can find on your hard disk completely if you are having further trouble, including the "com.quark.QuarkXPress.plist" file in your library > preferences folder...

...re-install and try again...

andrew

I might also try changing the resolution on your monitor... maybe they somehow floated off your screen and you just can't see them?

This has been a constant problem with us as well, using Tiger and Quark 6.5, and we tried all of those things. They are not off the screen. They just lose their "bottom half" and are gone. Mostly the page layout palette. We have to keep closing the palette and reopening it which works until the next time it loses it's bottom half.
