Disappearing Mount Points !

Can anyone explain why mount points would suddenly disappear ? - I use a SAN for diskspace, no detected hardware faults - but my mount points disappeared ! the /etc/filesystems looks ok....

any ideas how to check for this ?

Please explain what do you mean by dissapear.
The mount point itself or the mounted filesystem ?

Please post the output of :

1. df
2. mount

on investigation it looks like a hardware fault, it's been fixed by the engineers, but it was weird how half the previous mount points just disappeared ! -
