I have been using Backup Exec 9 for several years. This week my Jobs have 'disappeared'. They no longer appear under Job Setup or Monitor - but they do run. However this means I cannot monitor the schedule or adjust their properties. I've tried restarting the services and have rebooted the server (SBS 2003) but they are still missing.
Any ideas?
Many thanks in advance.

Hey there

Have you checked the Filter drop down menu at the top right of the BE window, sometimes if its been changed all jobs dissapear ?

Thanks for the reply.
Do you mean the filters in the Task Pane? They are all checked so that I should be seeing both Active and Schedules jobs. All I can see is the Job History under Job Monitor (Current Jobs is blank) and Backup Selection lists under Job Setup (Jobs and Backup Jobs Templates are both blank).
I can't see a Filter drop-down menu at the top right.

Check this image, its newer version of BE but the idea is the same ?

BE 9 doesn't have this option. As far as I can tell all filters are clear, i.e. all jobs should be visible.

Verify that the Backup Exec Job Engine service is running.

Thanks for the post.
All services are running, and my scheduled jobs run - I just can't see them!
This means that I cannot amend them in anyway, and I've added two new jobs, thinking the old ones had vanished, and they also run (and are also invisible!) so I have two jobs running at the same time and I can't do anything about it!
I've tried stopping and starting services, rebooting the server, updating BE software.
I guess the only next thing to do is to uninstall BE and start again.

Thats probably the quickest solution going by the length of time you have waited ona response,

You can also use the becmd to manipulate your backup jobs that are on the box.

details the switches availble, look for the query job options in there.

All the best

Thanks for that. I'll give your suggestion a go and then, if no joy, I'll re-install.
Regards
John

Sorry i dont have access to an earlier version, but when you goto view (as in File, edit, view menu) can you remove the filters that way ? it sounds like its filtered and needs them removed

Hopefully this resolves the issue for you

Jamie

Thanks for the post.
I don't think it's a filter. I can't see any checked/unchecked options that affect the viewing of the jobs. For example, Show Scheduled Jobs is checked but they are not visible.

Just to update this thread.

In the end I had to completely uninstall BE and then re-install it.
The program is now working (at least it is so far!).

Thanks to those of you who gave me suggestions to try out.
