Gathered Hearts and Minds,

I have been given a load of Dell PowerEdge 500sc's to prep with win2ksvr for small office installs, and I have noticed that they have no cover to protect accidental knocking of the power button (can anyone say Mickey Mouse server?). Although I dont make a habit of kicking my servers I cannot guarantee that it won't get bumped on the power button by someone. Just a single tap sends the thing into shutdown, thanks to the power options in w2ksvr, and I can't find a way of disabling this option. I know that if you have it connected to a UPS and use something like Powerchute then this is disabled but does anyone know of another way?

Cheers

Why don't you just tape a small piece of cardboard flap over the power button? It's nothing fancy but it will certainly do the trick ;-)

Ahh...
the pure simplicity of it...
the genius...
like a diamond bullet though the forehead.
I was going to do that but I hoped there was a way without distroying the beautiful lines of my new server ;-)
