Disabling Mic on Cisco 7821 IP phone

Is there a way to disable the Mic on a 7821 IP phone permanently?

In the device configuration, under Product Specific Configuration Layout the first option is to disable speakerphone.
That will take care of it.

I need the speaker phone active, I just need to mute the Mic. We are using the phone as a intermediate device for the paging system. wired right to the speaker on the phone and set to auto answer but it opens a 2 way talk path so the mic is picking up noise and conversations. We just need to mute the mic permanently.

No other way. Just cut the wires to the mic.
