disabling c: drive throught administrative template

I am wondering if there is a way or diabling the C: drive of users without going to each system and write protecting the C: drive.

What do you mean by disabling? If the user has no access to the C drive they wont be able to work at all. At a minimum they need to have read access to OS files to be able to function. Also if you have not moved them, the user profiles default to the C drive too.

Sorry, I actually mean read only access to the C:drives, without having to go to each individual computer. is there an option to do that throught administrative templates. What about If a test profile is set up with read only access to the C: drive and copied to the users in question, will that work?

I'd have to ask again what you want to lock them 0ut of. If they can't write to the temp folder, temp internet files folder and to parts of the registry they can't function.

There are ways via script top lock down machines remotely but you must be VERY careful otherwise you disable the system.
