Does anybody know how to disable the cd-rom autorun feature on windows xp? I don't want the cd to autorun once place in the cdrom, any suggestions? Thanks

When I've done it in 2K, I have gone to the registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CDRom

and changed the autorun value to 0, not sure if it is the same in XP but worth a look.

I think it's a little easier than that!

Open up My Computer and Right Click the CDROM. Select Properties.

There is a Tab called AutoPlay. Select the action you want it to take - ie. No Action.

Thanks, MrTickle for the suggestion. Works just fine for XP. Thanks all who help
