Everytime XP joins a domain it creates another profile for the user logging in.

I would like to authenticate to one domain but I may need to join another domain and each time I get a new profile.

Is there a way to stop XP from creating a new profile for each domain so that I only have one. It's a pain when you lose your icons when you choose another domain.

If these Domains are connected with a LAN or VPN you could make a trust. If you make a trust you can select users from that other domain to give them rights in your Domain or vica versa. Then you could log in in your own domain and go to drives on the other.

Do you have a notbook?

I know it is really annoying.

Do you actually have to login to the domain?

I have a similar problem being a consultant with a laptop and going to many different companies. What I have done is get the companies to give me security to the servers I need rather than the domain as a whole and just log in to the servers as needed. This is a lot easier if you can keep your name and password consistant between servers but not required.
