Hi
I've tried to do this but the Firewall settings on the users stations are still grayed out. This is what I've done so far.
- Created a new Group Policy object, and given the object a descriptive name (Turn Off Desktop Firewalls).
- Selected the newly created group policy.
- Right-clicked on the newly created policy and selected Edit.
- Expanded the Computer Configuration folder, then the Administrative Templates folder.
- Expanded the Network folder, then the Network Connections folder, then the Windows Firewall folder.
- Selected the Standard Profile folder.
- Double-clicked the Windows Firewall: Protect all network connections option.
- Selected Disabled, then click OK.
- Selected the Domain Profile folder.
- Double-clicked the Windows Firewall: Protect all network connections option.
- Selected Disabled, then clicked OK.
- Closed the Group Policy dialog box.
In the Security Filter section, clicked add then
searched for the objects that this group policy will be applied to (I added one of the computers as a test but not sure if this is correct), then clicked OK.
Closed the Group Policy editor.
Have I missed anything?
I think the above details me setting up a new Group Policy Object but should I also have set up a new organisation unit also?
I have a headache now!
Thanks for any guidance.
