Hi,
I need a help in disabling view sub reports. I have a report with 4 sub reports in it. I don't want users to see the sub reports alone when they click on the main report. I don’t want users to know that there are sub reports in the back at all. Is there any way doing this.
Thanks

Hi,
sure, supress ( no tjust Hide) the section(s) they are in.

BTW, subreports may not be the best way to accomplish whatever you are using them for ( no details provided, so just a guess).
Try building a View or Stored Procedure or Command Object to handle that 'back end' work since multiple subs ( even 1 sub) can really slow things down..

I don't want to supress it. I want users not to go to sub report page. I still need to display the information from the sub report on the main report. I am trying to avoid user from going to the sub report page when they click on the main report.
Thanks

Hi,
If it is displayed are they not 'going' to it?
If you mean no drill down, then set that on the groups' properties..

Yes, they can go to sub report page, but I don't want that..I want users only to see the main report.

Create a large blank text box. Use it to mask the subreport, so that a click hits the text box and does nothing. So unless they are code-wise enough to move the text box, they can't get at it. Nor accidentally click on it.

The problem with this is, sometimes the subreport has a lots of records in it, and the text box won't cover it. The text box won't expand to cover the subreport.

Hi,
Again, I am confused as to why supressing the sections that hold the subs does not accomplish what you want..The subs still run and produce data which I assume you use on the main report - The users will not be able to go to or see the subs..

Hi,
The Problem is I want to display the data from the subreport on the main report.
Thanks

Hi,
Create shared variables and assign them the output from the data in the subs you want them to see.
Be sure the subs are run before the section with the shared variables is displayed.
