I have three 2003 SP1 domain controllers. I was forced to restore one using a Ghost image due to a problem with a RAID card upgrade. Now when that server boots, it pauses the Netlog service indicating that a USN rollback was detected. I have re-enabled replication using the repadmin /options. I have verified that replication is now working properly between all three controllers. I do not see any problem at all. I can create new users or edit existing ones and have the changes immediately show up on the other two controllers, or do the reverse and see the changes appear on my problem domian controller. Other then the error at boot up, I see no problem at all for over a week now.

How can I simply disable USN rollback detection?

Anybody?

By the way, I meant to say "Netlogon" service, not "Netlog"

Porkchop,
I performed the "repadmin /options DC_Name -disable_inbound_repl -disable_outbound_repl" commands to re-enable replication.

As I said, everything is now working fine. I would rather not have to perform the Domian Controller demotion procedure unless I absolutly have too. Part of the reason is that this server is also an Exchange 03 server and I am afraid of what impact the temporary demotion would have on Exchange. The image backup I restored from was only about an hour older the live AD running on the other two servers. The restore was done after hours so ther were no changes made to AD during this period. My guess is the only difference is a Date/time stamp on a record in AD.

Since AD is working fine, I would like to find a way to reolve this without having to demote/promote.

Thanks

I'm afraid we don't use Exchange here so i'm unable to help on that, you could try the Exchange forum there some gurus there.
