Disable *T

Is it possible to disable the *T function? We have been getting external, crank calls where we believe the caller is dialing the direct dial number of a known unused extension and then using *T to transfer the call to a valid extension. These calls are being made to annoy employees.

change system parameters features on the Audix. Call Tranfer out of Audix set to none. This will not allow any tranfer to be perormed out of the Vmail system

Instead of making it hard for the good guys why not remove voicemail from the unused sets. Reassign VM as the sets are re assigned.

Thank you both for your input. I changed the transfer type to None. I will wait to see if I receive any complaint calls about this change. If not, I hope this will eliminate the problem.

I have removed the VM from the unused extensions but the bad guy also calls current employee's phones when he knows they are out to lunch and transfers the call to another employee or to the lunchroom. He then holds the receiver up so that all we hear is background, grocery store noise.

Do you know the ANI where these calls are coming from, and do you have any EC500 licenses? If so, you can block the calls from coming into your switch without having to use vectors.....

This is harrasment. Call your local Police department and open a harrasment report. The PD will call the carrier the Carrier will trace the call the PD will have a nice talk with this prankster.
