Is there a way to convert back a security database (bak file) to a normal database (mdb)

What do you mean a 'Security File' ?

If you mean a database that has been secured using the MSAccess standard security model - then YES - but the 'how' depends on what bits of the security model are in place and how it was done.

As for the .BAK file

AFAIK the .BAK simply means it is a BackUp copy of the files and has nothing to do with 'security'

Thanks for your reply, Yes I am using the standard Ms Security Model. It was done using the security wizard.

So what is it that you want to do ?

Allow user access without needing a password

Or

Remove all security entirely

Or

What ?

Create a new database with no security.
Name and Save it.

Log into the secure database
Set Amin user Password to Blank
Give Admin user all privlidges on all objects
In a Code window select Tools Menu, Properties and on the Protection tab remove the Lock for Viewing tick ( it it is there )
Save and Close

Go to the new database and from File Menu, Get External data, Import
and then import all of the objects to the new database.
