Hey all, how can I disable read recipts for:

All 2003 exchange users?

I have disabled this on the server by:

Exchange Manager
-- Global Settings
--- Internet Message Formats
---- Default Policy / Properties
----- Uncheck
-------- Allow Automatic Replies
-------- Allow Delivery Reports
Any ideas?

Thanks

I think you can use the Office Resource Kit adm files to turn off sending read receipts in Outlook. I'm not positive, and I'm not near a server with the adm files. But I seem to recall seeing that.

You need to disable read receipts too.
Open System Manager - Global Settings - Internet Message Formats - properties for the Default Recipient policy - Advanced.
Disable all 'Allow..' lines.

If 'something' 'somewhere' gives 'some' error, expect random guesses or no replies at all.

I just do this on the SMTP connector. Anyone using read / delivery receipts internally is just being "over zealous".

How do you do that on the SMTP connector? I don't see the option.

Hey Marcs41, if you disable all, won't that impact calendar and meeting requests?

thanks

Disabling those option has no impact on Calendars or meeting requests. All it does (or doesn't) is stop sending OOF, NDR and other Automatic replies to the internet.
