Thanks for your input! I should have mentioned that I have pretty much exhausted all options that I know about, including POLEDIT.EXE. There is only one thing close in POLEDIT, which is to disable the entire desktop, but that is just too drastic. I was hoping for a undocumented registry tweak to obtain my goal.
That's an easy one. Paste the following into notepad and save it to the desktop as NoCmenu.reg. Double-click on the icon, follow the regedit prompts and then try right-clicking on the desktop.
Now that's what I call beautiful work! Works wonderful! I know feel very confident that the end users, no matter what PC knowledge level they have, can do anything other than what is displayed on the desktop.
By the way, do you happen to know of any books or documents on Registry settings? Something that would list any and all such tweaks?
You're welcome. Microsoft used to have a nifty little page that listed most of the useful reg keys but they seem to have removed it from their site! (MS must think that knowledge is too dangerous a thing to pass around freely.)
