I'm looking for a way in which I can prevent users on our intranet from being able to print out certain pages, while leaving the option to print other pages.

Thanks

Jon

I'm using IE6 and acrobat 5, and the pdf remains unprintable even when viewed in the browser.

All I had to do was check the 'No Printing' box in the document security dialog.

Using Acrobat v4, hmm - I wonder if I can justifly v6

using PDF generally makes things slower, and often harder to read. Harder to edit depending on your software. More difficult to lay out than a webpage. etc etc

Basically you're really going to have to bite the bullet and let them print or not put it up. Even if you managed to stop them printing what's to stop them taking a screen grab and printing that or even just using ol' pen n' paper to write it down.

The web is a public forum, no hoarding allowed !

Jedean, then you guys need to stress to yur workers that printing documents that end up wasting paper will come out of their pockets. Ie put a jar next to the printer to collect 1 penny per page printed.

Or you can take your "wasted" paper and recycle them, or use them as scratch pads...They also make good packing material if shredded.

If you guys are that financially strapped, you should only have ONE machine to access the printer, install programs that your office workers would need to print from it, and have them save their work to disk, then take it over to that machine to print from it.

IMHO, you're over-reacting to a situation that doesn't need any reaction to, but a company memo to state that printing pages and not picking them up will be deducted from payroll.
And mean it. If you want to monitor who is printing what from where, your printer should have a "jobs" queue with the computer name and job they are printing. Dont see them coming to pick up, hand deliver it them and ask for $1 for your time.
