Please help!<br>I am trying to install a Voodoo3 2000 PCI. I need to disable the onboard video. Some people claim that there is a option in the BIOS to disable it. I downloaded the newest BIOS on the Compaq website (sp7107.exe), but when I enter the BIOS I can't find the option to disable it. Compaq tech says the Presario 4540 does not have this BIOS option and that I have to disable the card from Windows. I installed WIN2K and did that and it didn't work. Would this work for WIN98? (Stil having problems installing WIN98) Any suggestions? Compaqs are a pain.

Disable Onboard Video for Compaq Presario 4540

I have not seen that particular problem...I have several Presarios at home, most of which were given to me. I have a model 4540 and 4547, I think. Along with a slighlty older one. I have upgraded the older box to a Matrox Millenium II and disabled the integrated video adapter in Device Manager of Windows 2000...no problems there.<br><br>I will take that same card (it is the only PCI card I have, my everyday box uses AGP) and put it in the 4500 series Presario and see what results I get.<br><br>Personally, I think W2K should handle this stuff better than 98, but you never know. <p>Doug<br><a href=mailto:dxd_2000@yahoo.com>dxd_2000@yahoo.com</a><br><a href= > </a><br>
