disable new hardware option

I have a dual boot system. Works great.
I have a capture card which I use in 98 but XP always looks for this hardware at startup (which I dont want). How can I disable "Installing new hardware" option when XP loads up. I can load in new hardware myself without XP telling me to.

Try disabling this device in Device Manger while in XP. It shouldn't affect it's functionality when you boot to 98.
